I saw this week's sketch challenge over at Stamping 411 (click HERE to visit) and decided to play along. Here's the sketch"
Now, I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of square cards. I've made them before and am always happy once I'm done, but I prefer the standard sized card. Also, I needed a thank you card and realized I had no larger square envelopes, so that sealed my fate - a standard card for me!!
Here's my card:
So, you may have noticed, the blues were slightly off. BUT...I decided to take the advice of a good friend of mine. When it comes to color (and fashion accessories), she always says, "It doesn't have to match. It just has to go." So , I left my slightly mismatched blues just they way they are!!
I used the flower from the Button Buddies stamp set in River Rock, Baja Breeze and Soft Suede. I cut them out and added buttons that "go" from the neutrals and subtles collections. I used my Big Shot and some River Rock paper for my leaves and some retired DSP. The ribbon is also retired (insert sad face here) and the sentiment is from Pursuit of Happiness. It's all layered onto Soft Suede and a Whisper White card base.
Sure hope my non-square card cuts it over at 411. Head on over yourself and see what inspires you!
Have a great night,
